"The Eyes Have It" Unframed Fine Art Print

The vibrant blues and greens of the peacock’s head and neck were satisfying to draw, and enhanced by creating a vignette effect around the top right of the drawing and closing in around the top of the peacock, so the viewer is drawn to it. The interesting viewpoint chosen really appealed to my creative senses, creating a circular feel in amongst the extravagant plumage. Interestingly, peacock feather colouration is produced by phototonic crystal nanostructures within the fiber layers of the feathers, spacing between these and optical reflections, which can vary with viewing angle.
